MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. His international success has seen him enter mainstream Latin music. In 2016, his hit Una Lady Como Tu was the recipient of the Colombian Kids Choice Award for Best Song in 2017. His debut album ADN was made available by La Industria Inc., a Medellin-based Sony distribution firm. It reached number 8 at the top of the Top Latin Albums chart. In the following year, he joined Ozuna on his Top Five smash Vaina Loca. In the year 2020, he worked with Noriel on Mala Influencia and then released her debut album Dopamina within the year following. He appeared later in 2021 as a duo with TINI on her smash streaming single Maldita Foto. The year 2023 was when the hit La Bachata was released. Turizo was raised in an musical family. His younger brother and his mother are both musicians. In interviews he's talked about participating in music as compulsory. As a child he learned to play saxophone guitar ukulele as well as piano. His first career choice was to become a vet, but his brother Julian convinced him to study to sing with the help of a Cuban teacher. The end result, discovering that he had talents for singing, changed the course his life.
